New free-to-play FPS: Dirty Bomb

Dirty bomb is a new free-to-play FPS by Splash Damage, the company that made Enemy Territory years ago.
It's just gone open-beta through steam.
I haven't played it yet but looks interesting. Alot like ET: Team Fortress-style classes, objective-driven asymmetrical maps.

looks fun! shame about the same same weapons but aside from that it looks fun

Unreal Tournament is also free to play and has some new features; by the time it's finished it might well be a proper new FPS

if its anything like ET im keen, love that game, the objectives, medi/engie etc... is it only on Steam? I wonder what the movement is like, strafe movement?

Seems OK. Can't see it holding my interest very long though. Never played ET:TF either

In ET you have several classes of soldier: Engie blows up and repairs stuff vital to achieving objective, Medics revive teammates and can give health packs, Lieutenant gives out ammo packs and calls air strikes, cant remember the other class name which enabled picking up enemy uniform and being able to infiltrate the enemy camp to open doors to let team in and assist engies in blowing shit up. Heaps of fun, and very team play oriented. Or, as many would, you could just shoot to kill and work on your k/d... Built on the quake engine so movement feels good...

I never played TF either...

Looks good.

I used to play team fortress when it started on quake 1. It was my go to game that was always fun and with the different classes always different. I hate the new TF with its super slow movement though.

I loaded it up tonight, its quite fun actually. Only noticed one bug of XP not being recorded. and only 1 match with massively unbalanced teams. so many people too. You have to fight to get a spot in the 20 aussie servers.

Runs slow on my old pc, the cmds are new to me (unreal engine) so here's a high fps cfg guide:

Added borg and the gub thats been offline for a year. gub if that's the wrong account try adding us through the pit clan profile.
