Shaking monitor

the monitor im using at the moment has a shake in the corners; wtf causes this and how can i fix it; i have tried to degause it and that makes it shake and then when that thing stops it still shakes a bit in the corners. Is there any way to stop this or is the monitor heading towards rat shit?

It sounds like your resolution is not right, or there is something interfering with the picture on the outside i.e. mobile phone or something. Also could be some prank software someone has put on you pc.

its not prank software that anyone here has put on; i dont think its ad-ware or anything either tho. there isnt any mobile phones near it but now that i think about it its the same type of shake; im not sure if its the screen res either cause it happens on any res. might be the vga cable maybe; could be creating an iductance or something; i dont know. it just started the other day and nothing ahs been changed

as u said, u could try using a diff vga cable .

its a ultra view monitor about 3 years old at the very most. by shake i mean it stutters and wabbles as if its drunk.. only way i can describe it. i cant replace the vga cable tho its one of those ones thats stuck in all teh time

My 21" monitor simply can't handle 1280x960 or any higher resolution without the same side-effects. So I have to run the bastard in 1024x768 even though it's enormous. It's very old and the obvious conclusion is that it's slowly coming apart at the seams.

You may have a magnetic build up in the shadow mask of the screen - If possible switch off and unplug the monitor from the power point for at least 24 hours.
