Thinking about buying either a 22" or 24" widescreen LCD - for work and play. Is 5ms or 6ms considered good for gaming.

yep.
Also depends on the type of lcd panel iirc. But generally anything under 6ms or under is great.
My 17" is 12ms and i have never noticed any bluring or loss of image quality. However i did notice an increase in image quality.
Then again, ive used a 19" lcd with a 12ms responce time and it blurred bad...
benchmarking was done with quake3

i think Fleshy got one of those Cheimei 22" Lcd panels . they are dirt cheap and reasonable image quality!
They are SENSATIONAL VALUE ! approx $525 for 22" insane value .
ask fleshy how it is ? i think he said he luvs it !
u could always get a Dell 24" widescreen for $1500 delivered or Dell 20" widesceen for $850 or 20" Lcd panel non widescereen for $750 all in OZ dollars !

Ha I've already got a 155cm DLP for gaming and movies in the loungeroom, but it's not too good for working. My work PCs 19inch CRT is shitting me so I thought I'd upgrade to a nice widescreen LCD s they're so cheap now. Well the 22inch are cheap, not sure why the 24inch are typically 3x the price of the 22inch models. Think I'll just get a 22". I'll be able to write it off on tax too!

Been reading a lot of reviews and althought the 24-inch are a lot more expensive they do seem a step above the 22-inch models in a lot of ways. I think I'll go for the . Pretty exy but I'll be spending many many hours parked in front of it in the near future and I can write the bastard off on tax.

Well I''m very happy with my two 17'' Samsungs ---> 173P and a 173P Plus
The 173P has a contrast ratio of 700:1 but the Plus version has a 1500:1 ratio and you can easily see the difference when they are side by side.
The 224T has nice specs too 16.7mil colours @ 6ms and HDCP Support... NICE!!!
I don't think you will be disappointed.

Well just ordered the Sammy 244T, will arrive next week. Yeah Rusty I wanted to make sure I got one with HDCP support which most of the 22inch models don't. I wonder if my 6800GT will be up to gaming at 1900 x 1200. It does very well at 1280 x 720 with just about every game but I've never played anything higher than that because my TV doesn't support anything higher than that.
