has anybody taken the plunge ? anygood ?
It has no email as such built in , you have to get
a third party mail account instead , and in built
photo editing software , not that , that bothers me.
i have a copy of 7 ultimate but havent put it on as yet
and not sure weather i should bother , switching from
vista ultimate to 7 ultimate ...
So yer has anybody played with it ?
cheers

Have used it. iT rocks my pants. Am waiting for my ultimate msdn copy in the mail.
Mind you, Vista trumps XP and I've been using Vista for over a year now.

It's fantastic. Bought it the day it came out and I'll not look back. I think I had more issues with XP then I ever did with Vista but this is awesome as.

Tried it on a PC at work that had it installed.
Open MSCommunicator
>spawns an Office config window
>which then blocks it's own ActiveX control
>which then opens a website
Not that much has changed *sigh*

I have been running windows 7 for 3/4 months ultimate 64 bit
Had a few driver issues, skype still works but causes system crashes
Abode... was another, drivers have matured and doesn't seem to be a issue anymore.
damon tools would also crash..
Beats duel boot system which i was running b4 with vista and xp
Doesn't thrash up the WD raptors like vista did, plays all the games i want ( reason for xp )
There are some nice features, overall. i prefer 7 over vista which continuously reminds you that you have turned of certain features. easyier to edit boot.in
that's only my impression.

Just installed it a few weeks back ! got my copy off ebay . Got it and it works sweet although it aint what i thought it was going to be ie pyhsically in a box etc but shit hey it works!
It is Windows 7 ultimate 64bit !
Havent used it that much but it seems pretty damn good! I have found it to be very much like XP if you know how to find stuff but it has a lot morew stuff under the hood than xp. Teh network thingy is cool especially the see full map of Lan network.
Seems a bit more robust than xp too, i think.
My 2 bobs worth!
cheers

I usually upgrade as I buy a new computer... but Windows 7 is tempting me to buy it on it's own.

Well i would recommend it totally ! it really is much the same as vista with all the stuff fixed up, how vista should have been! ie Vista Version 2
but the only things u have to consider are, do i get 32bit or 64 bit and which version of win7 , home /pro/ultimate
cheers
