Lappy drama

A mate is having drama's after trying to setup duel boot win7 & linex on his lappy.
Appears boot sequence has changed as was cd then hdd... but now wont boot from cd and shows no bios splash.
System goes straight into a dos screen showing....

grub rescue>
Hes tryed many grub commands and found a link that proposed a solution, that failed.
I can get heaps more info from him but thought ide start with that in the hope some has had this before and solved.

and this is a good guide using a livecd or usbstick to reinstall grub

try holding esc while booting to change the boot order or what ever magic button "F8 maybe" to enter bios setup to change boot order ,bios is prbably hidden untill promted
