Internode up their prices big time

Postby jof » Mon Jun 04, 2007 10:07 am

Fuck I can't take a trick with ISPs lately. Only just signed up with node a few months ago and now they want $20 a month extra for my plan. Some plans went up $40. I just cbf switching ISPs again.. think I've had 5 changes in 4 years. I'll probably drop back down to 1500/256 instead of wearing the increase.

Yeah their first two threads got so big they had to be closed and they are up to page 38 on the third! Pretty funny because normally the node fanboys will flame anyone who dares mention anything bad about internode hah.

A 20% hike for me is too much and some others went up 25%. It appears to me they did the old bait and switch with their adsl1+ plans. Certainly got me to signup due to their lower price then go and up the price a few months later.

exetel seems to have pretty reasonable deals, adsl2+ plans for 45 bucks with 48 gig downloads, plus a static ip if u plan on hosting anything, that website also compares VoIP and credit cards as well

I was with exetel about a year. They were pretty damn good the firt 9 months then all of a sudden everything went to absolute shit. Downtimes, drop outs, dns problems all the time. Not sure if they fixed their shit after that (I left about a year or so back), but I'd be wary of switching to them.

Fuck I wish I could go back to 3 years ago with my unlimited 512/128 plan with TPG... 130Gb a month of downloading goodness! :)

I'll be staying with Internode. Hanging out for ADSL2+ on my exchange, Optus have an ADSL2+ DSLAM in my exchange and I've been tempted to move every now and then, but I'm a lazy fucker and changing ISP just seems like a big pain in the arse.

So true about the Inode fanboys, no matter how mild the complaint they shout down anyone who dares slight their beloved ISP, and now the tables have turned - old skool! Can't say I blame them over much, some of the plans have pretty majors price hikes. Still, lol at those cunts, I hope the ISP they churn to really sucks :)

Haven't you downloaded the entire net yet JOF? ;)

I signed with IINet for 6 months. Their VOIP plans are about the best going now (for ISPs that have customer service....I'd never sign with TPG based on that fact)

Yeah I did Leo but I accidently deleted it.

I'm thinking of starting my own internet. I'm gonna call it Internets 2!

I'd hardly call it a bait and switch. They gave plenty of notice (doesn't come into effect until your first bill after July) as well as waived the normal exit fees if you're still under "contract".

Still, events like this remind me just how retarded the WP population really is. There was even one twat who thought it the height of arrogance that Internode didn't consult everybody on how to reshape their pricing structure.

EDIT: Oh, and now it's apparently a conspiracy because the nationwide outage bumped them off the front page, as if everybody didn't already know about it by now.
Cheers,

This actually pissed me off - and believe me, I ain't no internode fanboy! My plan jumped $20, which quite frankly is ridiculous, so I'll probably move to iinet adsl2+ now that I have enough motivation to do so!
You and your red fabric robe, glasses and peace pipe in your mouth for that damned split second!

Luckily I'm a 5GB/month kind of person. I'm downgrading to the 1500-Power5 when my current plan changes. I'm now actually living the "lie" of only downloading Linux distros, and the Internode mirrors have most of what I need.
Cheers,

I'm hard pressed downloading 10GB of porn each month these days - the ol'd right hand ain't what she used to be
