Saw this thread and thought of the mkv2vob program. Mkv's (although superior in sound and picture quality) cannot be read on ps3's and xbox 360 media servers. This program specifically converts mkv's (at a small loss in picture quality) to a file type (.mpg) that will work with both the ps3 and xbox 360 consoles

Tooltip: Choose transcode dts in the options it is a good option to have audio work in either stereo or 5.1 on either of the game stations. enjoi!!
