For those of you who didn't catch the games perhaps PM Gubben for a multi-view perspective otherwise my demo's are . However, I don't really do anything exciting (was lagging in grand finals)
Just wanted to say big thanks to Gubben for putting everything together, and smokin, inkorp and hardy for putting up the prize money for this competition. I know exactly the things Gubben went through, and as I do apologize for aiding to the stress a little, it is extremely hard to get people to upload 5mb (each map) demos every match.
As far as how IG in competitive plays out, as haste mentioned in , at a slightly higher skill level instagib becomes very frustrating in a way that you can potentially kill the defender and have him instantly respawn behind you. Similarly you can kill 3 or 4 of the other team (on a map say japanese castles) and have them all respawn in their own courtyard/base while you run through the main passage. It seems like the spawn factor is very controlling of the outcome of the game, a few suggestions to avoid this.
Increase spawn timer (if possible)
Make it 4v4 instead of 5v5
Pick maps where you can't respawn in enemy base
Apart from that, it was nice to get the guys together for a new style of competition. We weren't really sure what to expect through-out the whole competition, and even had SS take a map of us pretty convincingly. Thanks to everybody else for playing
