Righty...

http://www.holysh1t.net/how-to-customiz ... ve-config/

Then figure out if you want this in your config file:

Code: Select all

set cl_demorecordmessage "1"

1 = Shows you a message on HUD showing if recording a demo etc.
0 = Nothing on HUD re: demo recording

Make sure these are in there too and that they don't clash with something you may have binded there yourself:

Code: Select all

bind "F4" "record"
bind "F5" "stoprecord"

Once you've checked if its recorded (you WILL have to play a match) you can find it here:

http://www.holysh1t.net/watch-quake-live-demos/

And promptly e-mail it to either Team Captain or other designated person.

Yes there are more elegant ways of doing this but this is for newbs ;)

cl_autoaction 3

This makes quake automatically record and screenshot every game you play! You can find the files afterwards in your qlive directory.

Obviously we can't 'submit' them, we can only post links to wherever they're submitted, right?

If the above is right, then:

1) What filetype is wanted? The raw .dm or something else, like .avi..or what?

2) Where are we to upload demos too? File serve, youtube, etc?

3) Submission immediately after each match? Like, in what time frame before you get the cane? I'm guessing raw files would be many gig's per player which could take hours and hours before we could even post a link to wherever we uploaded them to? And I don't know about converting QL demos to smaller .avi's or something like that, but I imagine that's not quick either?

Questions from someone who has ZERO experience with demos. I can record em, yep, and play them from the console, but converting/compressing/sharing...I'm like, wtf. So any help with how you guys prefer this be done is appreciated.

I would imagine that we will e-mail the demos with no conversion to gubs and post the screen shots in the forums ?

thanks the replies there :)

and I +1 faux's reply there - I'm sure we all don't need to convert to avi right? the default demo format will do surely..

upload to html (e.g. uppit.com) or similar or is there an aim3demo email?

BTW, could we get this thread moved to the AiM forum. For a moment there I thought this thread was deleted.

You dont have to convert them, that would take too long. Just send the raw .dm file.

You can send them to aimtourneys@hotmail.com or post them on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=5339

Thanks
