i couldnt find the public beta

It's the same as the old quake live game. In your games library, right click on it and go 'properties' or w/e it says, somewhere under a tab in there is a checkbox to opt-in for betas. Check it, OK/Apply and then the game will update. Will update with better instructions once I'm back at home

So, once we opt in for the beta does that mean we cant play on original QL anymore? not that it bothers me since mine is glitched, just wondering about having all players merge.

I've yet to attempt it but I've been told each time it 'deletes' it. So back everything up before making the attempt

who says he's in contact with someone ' in the know '
he said full game should be out by Thurs/Friday

Possilbly with DLC for gibs etc :roll:

Quake Live on steam as soon as you download it is just the normal version like the old one. Once you get into the guts of it and check 'beta' and all that it'll then update itself (1GB??) and then be like the new version. You CAN go back to the original but each time forward or back it kills your config/hud/demo files.

Once on the new version you dump your configgy stuff here: ?: \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Quake Live\765*\baseq3
*bigass number that'll be unique to you.

Ive downloaded it, runs nice and smooth. Will be good to get gibs back in and play some games.

umm ... should I be doing something different to what I was doing last night (Oct 26) to play ? I am getting a message from the Quake client that it can't run and I should check my firewall settings. ???

well that was like bizaro world. After an hour or so of that connection problem. Bang .. things are back to normal. And Ink .. just in case I need to know some time, how do I check my GL version?

I'd guess the NZ servers are all down as all I can see now are Euro servers. Maybe they all crashed and that was why I was getting the connection messages.

Yes that was a typo ... I meant QL. and another question .. how come when I log in now I can see people in my friends list that are online, but I cant see what games they are in or see them listed in the friends tab in bottom right?
