This is a good time to get an Aus openarena server running and see if it catches on.
Openarena is a free software library replacement for the original Q3 artwork and maps.
Been a while since i've done it but I think all that players need is the ioq3 installer, connect to the openarena server and it downloads all the data at the awaiting-gamestate screen - no q3 cd required.
