Bikes are a bit smaller than a car, but at least its a small car. I have a mate that has expensive spray guns tho so at least I dont have to worry about that side of things. I'll see how I go after laying down primers and doing the body work. Painting it will be at least 6 months away I think.

Yours is lookin good tho, will be great to see all the parts painted, and then the re-assembly process.

Thought I better do an update - I have no progress to update

Ive been not much more than a breathing veggie most of this month (and probably a bit of next). So I have conceded that my desired completion date will not be met.

Yer, I did borgz. The green metalic flake was to liven up the black and to achieve more of a burgundy colour when the candy red top coat was done. The moment I saw this Cherry Black I knew it was the colour I desired.

When I was inspecting the tank & bits and taking a couple pics I had the overwhelming thought of;
- Fuck me, I just painted that ! -

Im almost to the point of painting the underside of the dato, getting excited for that so you must be over the moon to be putting colours on.

Are you painting 2-pack or acrylic? how long are you leaving between coats and are you sanding each time? and how did you do the blending? just by hand or did you lay some guides somehow? (if you cant tell im rather impressed and inspired by your work)

Haha.... yeah borgz, the anticipation of 'the next step' is both nervous & exciting... I hear ya

All paint is 2 pac. Prolly easier & more detail to read my thread on the ... the body painting process starts from page 9.
Flash times & multi layer drying times are 2 different & very important things to read up on.

The smoke blend is done free hand.
I started with a thin 15mm spray pattern and only a light spitting of paint as a centre guide line... leave alone for 5 mins Flash time, repeat 3 or 4 times to get a light but semi- solid colour ( only a little gold showing). Then some 20mm wide layers over the centre, then 25mm over the centre, 30mm etc.
By the time I got to my desired total width, the centre line was becoming a very deep solid colour with approx 12-15 layers.... that fades out, as the outer most edge's have only 7, 5, 3 & 1 layer.

I started off really nervous, so worked slowly with many, many pass's of light spray.
Im sure the pro's would get that down to only 4 or 5 pass's of medium to heavy spray.
