Sort of modeled around a frogt the legs are anyway.... and a tick.

Its also meant to be parasitic.

The hooks underneath, are curled in to the prey, using its legs, and the weight of the prey against itself.

The hands, are part of the face, and hold on the surface, while the mouth - err.. eats.

You can imagine, it springs forth, and digs the hooks in. Then it continues pushing against you or the ground, to embed the hooks fully. Now it's dinner time!
