Picked some nice gear there m8. I was tempted to go for a 790i ultra board but as you said... the cost of the board alone and a few gigs of good ddr3 is VERY expensive.... least the 780i is DDR2. A 42'' monitor is insane m8. Not sure what you mean by last 5 digits..... there are heaps on the box hah...

Hey IN4ME, Nothing wrong with the Q6600 at all. Comparing all the CPU charts if you are encoding or doing anything along those lines that will take advantage of multicores then you can't go wrong. However if your ONLY gaming it might not be the best option atm. Check the cpu charts and decide for yo...

Quick question..... got an E8500 today and noticed that its HFS is half the height of the Q6600 I have. Is this to be expected as the E8500 is only dual core and has a lower thermal design power? Anybody else got one that is in the same boat?

One thing some people may not consider when buying a laptop is spare parts! If your mobo shit its self and you have an uncommon laptop prepare to loose an arm to pay for a new one.

I know some people really hate dell (I agree to some extent with desktops, custom builds are better). But my brother has had a dell laptop for over a year now and its rock solid. I also have 2 dell Axim pda's and they both have been excellent. If I were you i would also consider dell in your purchas...

If its anything like my work HP laptop you'll need all the luck you can get!! ......... i'm not joking either. Over the past 6 months 6 work laptops out of about 20-25 have died. Not fantastic figures. Mine has been going ok as a general rule. However it does lock-up occasionally (once a month or so...

GB if you haven't already done it, you may want to consider removing any hardware/external devices that aren't mandatory to install windows. Also if you have 2 or more sticks of ram, try each one individually and see how you go, also try a different IDE/sata cable, and lastly (if possible) try insta...
