No issues with Windows 10 both Personally and in the workplace.
Sadly a lot of upgrades from Windows 7/8 will nearly all be non UEFI... which is not ideal.
Update your BIOS and a fresh install > Upgrade if you can =]

That "USB Device Over Current Status Detected" is an odd one. Sounds like (if you have removed all usb devices) like an internal short in the astual usb hub or tracks in the mobo/chipset. I'm assuming no bios updates state this as a know error and fixing it with a new bios? What happens if...

I'd have to say the oldest running part I had was one of the first SATA WD 10,000 rpm drives dated 03. Was finally upgraded last weekend. For its time it was awesome!! and has never missed a beat all these years.

I would suggest starting with the Z68X/P Chip-set. It pretty much is the best chip-set for the Socket 1155 platform.....
